August 29: Devil’s Club

Devil’s Club has huge leaves! Not fun to hike through a thicket of this stuff. It’s nasty, spiny stuff. I’ve seen it rip holes in people’s pants and shirts. They don’t call it Devil’s Club for nothing. This is on the approach trail to Cape Flattery, which is the northwestern-most point in the contiguous United States (i.e., the far upper left hand corner of Washington State).
